Whether it’s the EU green deal looking to reduce GHG emissions through to local initiatives cross-countries, everyone both personally and professionally is looking to play their part in protecting our planet. As a result many organisations are working to ‘think sustainably’ and make changes that can contribute to an overall carbon emission reduction This can be process driven, from packaging or in the context of a building, whilst a space is being refurbished there are opportunities to achieve carbon emission reductions.
A great example of where lighting helped to achieve this was when Thorn Lighting worked with Selco UK in 2020. Working together, Selco achieved a carbon reduction on average of 69 tonnes of carbon per store per annum – the equivalent of 200,000 trees or 89 football pitches!
